Image Woody and Bev Baker, together with their daughers, Carrie and Margo, came to Australia to take up a position with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Woody left paid employment as a photographer in Atlanta Georgia and the Bakers sold up and relocated to Australia that they are pleased to now call home.

There are over 2000 languages in the world today that have no written scriptures. These unreached groups represent approximately 193 million people. Wycliffe Bible Translators seek to begin translation for each of these people groups by the year 2025.

This need and vision is what inspired the Bakers into mission work. Leaving family, jobs, schools, home and church, they joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2001. In 2003 they were assigned to Wycliffe where they serve in roles that support Bible translation.

Woody is the Regional Director for the state of Victoria, overseeing public relations and recruiting. Beverly is Administrative Assistant to the Principal of EQUIP Training, Wycliffe's translation and literacy school. Carrie began studies at Melbourne University in 2008 and and Margo is in her first year of VCE.
